Spare! Strike! Turkey!

Two weekends ago, we took Christian bowling for the first time. He did so great! His attention span lasted to the 10th frame, which was perfect.

When we first got there, his eyes widened as he tried to take it all in. There were kids running everywhere, video games, lots of noise and all the lanes seemed to confuse and interest him all at the same time. We got Aunt Nik and Daddy's shoes and headed down to the lane. At first he just stood there looking from left to right at all the activity. Once everyone had their shoes on, it was time to start. Daddy handed him the first ball and explain to Christian what to do. Chris asked if he understood and he said "Yes I do" so he slowly walked up to the lane - but he didn't stop at the line. He continued down the lane! Chris started to laugh and had to run down the waxy lane after him. He got him back to the line and re-explained it and helped him launch his first ball..... 1-2-3..... and VERY slowly the ball began to roll..... and roll.... and roll.... finally it reached the pins and it knocked down three! We all cheered and clapped and he threw his hands up with a gleaming smile and exclaimed "I DID IT!!!!" After that, he was hooked.....
Waiting on his ball to reach the pins.

Daddy and Aunt Nik actually thought they were going to be able to bowl without Christian assistance. What were they thinking?! So technically, my little bowler, bowled 20 frames! The ball retriever was a bit loud so every time he walked passed it, he covered his little ears.

By the end of the game, he started to wonder and fiddle with the league's lockers so we decided it was time to go, but he actually finished the game. He had so much fun, and we all had so much fun watching him bowl for the very first time. It was a great day!
Afterwards, we headed to lunch. We asked Christian and I am not making this up.... "Where do you wanna go for lunch? Chicky Lay.... "Christian, there isn't one up here, so we have to go somewhere else. Where do you want to eat? He looks at us and says "Ooooooole' Bob Evans." So off we went.... :)
